SCDI faculty have been working on a method for portfolio management of digital development initiatives. The background is that previous research has found this to be an under-developed area of concern for most organizations.
In an extended pilot-study the City of Gothenburg has implemented the solution (PIOS) in all operations (companies as well as administrations) and evaluated its utility and function. The study finds that the solution adds substantial value to the organizations digital transformation and hence that they will continue using it.
PIOS is currently being diffused throughout the Swedish public sector, with the intent of creating a transparent repository of all digital development initiatives nationally.
