The political decoupling of digital

In a recent opinion piece in one of Swedens largest newspapers researchers from SCDI initiated a debate concerning the complete decoupling of digital from political governance in the public sector. According to the findings of the underlying study, organizations display a tendency to not amply involve the board in decisions on the direction of digital transformation. Instead digital transformation is perceived and managed as value-neutral. In the public sector, the effect of the identified pattern is equated with a democratic challenge.
