Twin Transition @ AOM

Twin Transition, i.e., the ideal of a synergistic integration of digital and green transitions, is increasingly seen as a critical strategic component for addressing the climate crisis and achieving sustainable development. However, our understanding of Twin Transition is still nascent and challenged by the complexity of the phenomenon itself.

As a first step in unraveling this complexity, we organize a Professional Development Workshop (PDW) at the Academy of Management annual meeting in Copenhagen. The PDW brings together a group of leading experts that critically examine the opportunities, challenges, and risks associated with Twin Transition from a set of different perspectives.

We are happy to present the following lineup of distinguished speakers:

Prof Margunn Aanestad, University of Oslo

Prof Jan Recker, University of Hamburg

Carl Piva, CEO of the Swedish Internet Infrastructure Foundation

Prof Anna Visvizi, SGH Warsaw School of Economics & Research & Innovation Institute (Rii)

These four experts will give their perspectives to Twin Transition in short keynotes, whereafter we break into round-table discussions to dig deeper. Hopefully, by the end of the session we will have gained enough insight to push the study and practice of twin transition one step further. Our ambition is to publish a note on the results of the workshop in the Communications of the AIS.

Time and Place: Saturday, Jul 26 2025 9:30AM – 11:00AM, Bella Center, Hall B- B5-m3.

The PDW requires no registration, and will have a maximum capacity of 80 participants.

With this, we wish you all the best and a warm welcome to the PDW!

Prof Jonny Holmström, SCDI, Umeå University; Prof Johan Magnusson, SCDI, University of Gothenburg; Dr Alexander Herwix, SCDI, University of Cologne/Gothenburg on behalf of the organizing committee.
