Marcus Matteby is an Executive Doctoral student and part of the SCDI Digital Government Research School. He has a long background from management within IT and AI and is currently CIO/CDO in the municipalities of Sundsvall and Ånge. He has been awarded the CIO of the year award (DI Tech Excellence) and under his leadership, Sundsvall has received the award for Digital municipality of the year. He has been listed as the most influential person in public sector digital transformation in Sweden (DagensSamhälle) and was the only representative from the regions and municipalities in the Swedish Government’s AI Commission.
His research is focused on collective digital transformation, where he studies collaboration forms and strategies for enhanced digital transformation in the public sector, primarily in a local government setting.
